My dad is in a nursing home. I bought him an LCD/DVD combo tv from costco.ca that was either defective, or he messed up the settings somehow. He told me the volume didn't work all the time, and the DVD player always stopped playing 20 mins into the movie. So I had costco.ca arrange to have it picked back up.

But now I don't know if I should get another one of the same, because costco is awesome with returns and with me not living anywhere near him (he's 1500 miles away from me... plane ride to get to him) I can't think of any other store where they would pay for shipping on the return and reimburse me for shipping I paid to get the item.

Should I try again with costco.ca or is there another store that is totally awesome for returns (Where I can order online and have it shipped to him in small town Ontario)??

I would try costco again, if they are willing to pay shipping. You may have a defective tv, but maybe he either changed settings and can't remember what he did or how he did it. The other thing is that older people sometimes hear things, see things. Do you have anybody out there that maybe could check out the tv....even nursing staff??
