There is a rumour that the biggest mail-in rebate company has gone under. It scared me off and I cancelled order

The rebate is sent directly to the Brother company, and as long as they are in business, you should get your rebate. As for your rumor, which mail-in company has gone under? I have had to different rebates both from Brother in the past and received both. Just make sure you send them the correct stuff and on time tho.
