ABOUT NATIONAL SPORTS CANADA
National Sports is a Canadian retailer of sporting goods, selling a wide variety of sports equipment and accessories. With over a dozen locations in Ontario, National Sports has an emphasis on team sports such as hockey and baseball. The company believes that team sports are unique as they create a sense of community for the players and their families. National Sports is the middle man, providing its customers with products and resources to excel in their chosen activity. National Sports competes with the likes of Altitude Sports and Sport Chek.
The National Sports story started in 1968 with Norm Clements' creation of National Gym Clothing Limited. Although Norm started his company selling sports equipment from the trunk of his car, the company eventually expanded to multiple stores in Southern Ontario and was eventually purchased by FGL Sports Ltd., which is currently owned by Canadian Tire.
